Let PvE Chars. access the 'PvP' Equipment Pannel & Drop 'Buy Req' on Tolkanos Rewards
Here's the basic idea: Let PvE guys access the Equipment panel [Jkey by default] to roll gear on the fly, and let us spend zoins on stuff we like at tolkano without having to flush almost 3-6 stacks of silver zoins on junk you don't want to get to what you want. Not right off the bat, maybe after ascension or the completion of the zaishen elite or something...
Reasons I would like to see this:
#1 Easier access to PvP with PvE guys(and less frustrating gameplay period). Sometimes the gear you need can be hard to come by, either the collector that trades it wants something weird, the green that has them is hard to get to, or you have to shell gold out your ass after a half hour in kamadan. Also easier to set up temporarily for run, farm or to test a build or kit out Heroes if you can roll a bunch of generic/temporary stuff. The flexibility of the J panel would just make life much smoother.
#2 It gives players a chance to get the stuff they really want. Like for example, I've always wanted a str or command req Tribal Effigy or a command req summit warlord. Also there's tons of awesome swords, canes and staves and more that haven't been introduced to other formats, and if given the opportunity I'd rather sink my gold zoins there then on the envoy things. Part 2 of this is getting the stuff you want without sloging through the junk you don't. As I understand it, some folks have already had their accounts glitched to where they don't have to buy the basic>fancy progression, and with the demise of the xunlai tourney house the only way to get the tourney points if from the snowball or GvG tourneys(and if I understand the population, most folks would seem to buy Z-Keys with their points), this makes it a little unreasonable to expect players to aquire the resourses, buy, and store(or trash) up to 100 armor and weapons to get to the top tier(even on pvp only characters, as it is now, it seems a little unreasonable...). I never understood why they didn't or couldn't just adjust the points/zoin cost to reflect the value of the object Right now at tolkano the envoy pvp weapon is 50 zoins, why not just make it 80 gold-zoin and remove the 50 basic/50 fancy req...
Now here's the drawbacks I can see coming:
#1 It may crash the market for runes and mods if pve guys can spawn whatever gear they want. However most mods except the 20/20 casters and -5/20% shield seem to be worth 1k or less anyway, and only a handful of runes are worth more then 1k, I'm not sure there's many that make their only profit off trading the mods/runes(i remember when they nerfed the sup absorption, it went from like 50-100k+ to dirt)..... Also there would still be a market since you'd have to mod the gold loot you find. A solution might be to deny the pve equippment panel the right half of the menu, where the mods and runes are though that may take it overboard....
#2 Getting the prestige skins without doing the prestige stuff.... Getting the 30 gold zoins seems about equivalent to getting an armbrace without doing the DOA(not 1:1 in actual ecto cost but in effort applied), it's just atm you have to waste 3 stacks of silvers to get there first....
Keep in mind too, this stuff is customized to you on creation so while it could reduce demand for skins it would offset as increased demand for zoins. [edit] Forgot, PvE guys can upgrade their /bonus gear at tolkano too, but it would be nice to get stats I want as well as skins I want.
TL;DR Version: I'd like to be able to forge the weapons and armor with stats I want, with the skins I want, at a reasonable price, and letting pve guys access the J equippment menu and nerfing the 50 basic, 50 fancy requirement at Tolkano and adjusting the cost of the rewards can make that happen.

Reason: forgot info
I much rather have a weapon upgrade trader and the Prophecies and Factions drops updated to inscriptions, so PvE characters can make quicker changes to weapons for PvP.
I won't mind having the panel, as long as you had to acquire the items in PvE normally.
For example, to get a Kurzick armor unlocked so it appears in your item creation panel, you'll have to craft it first, not getting it through Tolkano.
Once unlocked, you can delete and make it again as many times as you want.
PvP characters could do the same, and get armors and weapon skins unlocked instead getting the item itself, but they would get the unlocks by using tournament tokens.
Not possible for those who have already used all 8 character slots on PvE chars.
I would rather that the PvP equipment panal be available for PvE chars just in PvP areas, and then the created PvP weapons would not be useable on the player character or on heroes in PvE areas.
I have also 8 pve characters, but that was a choice I made after careful consideration. 40/40 sets are easily crafted, all mods are available from other players (e.g. I got my +10 armor vs blunt within 2 minutes in kamadan for 1k). If you find that too much of a bother, keep a slot open for a pvp character or buy an extra character slot.
already have bought all the slots I am allowed to buy....so I would just really like to see the skins available in pve--if that happened I really wouldnt care (my pvp is on a 2nd account so I cant use them on my primary).
No. Stats are stats.. and there are no "must have" skins.. so pve performance is not effected by not having access to pvp rewards.
Gearing heroes is part of having heroes. The ability to gear heroes with pvp basic equipment is a leftover from heroes in pvp.. and the promise that a player could enter pvp right from day one with a viable character. The mechanic should not be used to equip pve heroes.
PvP and PvE are two separate spheres.. and should remain so. It is one of the strengths of this game when they follow through on it. (pvp/pve skill splits, etc)
I am not gated from PvP rewards. No one is. Participate.

go buy the pve versions of the skin, honestly its not that hard at all to buy this so called 'must' have skin if you are any good at pvp to begin with.
Unsigned, as others said there would be no reason to make a pvp char then. Part of a pve char gameplay is also aquiring stuff so...
If someone filled all their slots that was their choice, I always rather leave an empty slots for pvp chars, and always bought more slots when needed...giving up to a real char in favour of versatility.
It's just a matter of managing the slots you're given really.

This instead might as well do + add pvp only skins as pve drops too.
I do agree that pvp only skins could be made available in exchange for silver or gold Zcoins (e.g. dragon rod). They could make them purple like the weapons of purity. That should limit the impact on the economy, I think.
edit: Forgot about weapon upgrade trader; I don't really see a problem with that either this late in the game's life. Don't agree with making tyria/cantha only skins inscribable though.

how about 1 free PVP only slot for every 10 character slots that you have. That would solve cosyfiep's problem without screwing over the skins market.
they have a max amount of character slots you can have ...its 35--so you are willing to give me another 3 free characters slots (aka mule storage) for free???
SOLD!!!!!
I just want some of the pvp only skins--as a packrat/collector I have been trying to get some of them and find that they have no equivalent in pve
just have them drop in pve and I would be a happy rat

^This.
Also, if you want certain PvP-only-skin for your PvE-Char's weapon, do it with /bonus weapons.

huh? I want a certain skin that is ONLY available to pvp characters, getting my bonus weapons wont get me that skin. (like the Labyrinthine Spire or Lesser Ancient Rod for example..not available outside of pvp...typing away at /bonus all day wont get that skin to show up in my inventory!!)

You can take the /bonus stuff to tolkano, and upgrade it with z-coins or tourney points, he considers them pvp gear for some reason, but this is sort of a glitch. I have done this myself to get a clockwork scythe, a lesser stone blade, a clouded maul, a canthan machete, a few shiny versions of the insightful spirit binder and tactics req'd pragon shields, but aside from the hammer, all have less then stellar stats, and I'm still 90 weapons from the top tier stuff....
My point here is A: why can't all the characters take advantage of the equipment menu(pvp characters right away, pve characters after a threshold of some sort), and B: are we sure that tolkano's rewards aren't a bit overpriced.

Destroys market, why should I even make a PvP-only character then?
You know, there is a reason why are they called Roleplaying characters...
A: Destroy what market? as said the only rune worth anything is the sup vig, and like 6 others are worth more then 3k. Only a handful of mods are worth anything and they would still have some value as people will still want gold and low req versions of items from drops. And those weapons would still have value too, since stuff from the equip menu is customized on creation.
B: you make a pvp guy to quickly roll an effective charater, bypassing the low level role play content so you can PvP right away, the trade off, that guy doesn't get to leave the battle isles. the reason you might KEEP the pvp guy is you get good at that class, like it, and maybe don't like the others, and invest in it's gear with tolkano's loot. Others like to be flexible deleting and re-rolling to learn all the classes and have whatever the party will need. Pve folks too, have gotten good at their classes and taken their guys into pvp since the beginning, why are they barred from making basic gear then upgrading it at tolkano.

Or you could just make a PvP character...
There is absolutely no reason for this change other than the "I want this" factor.
I can't take a pvp character to frostmaws ,slay the wurm, and take a screenie in me gear, or admire his/her shiny gear while vanquishing a zone. Also, pvp characters tend to get deleted and re-rolled frequently, you can store items but not their armor.
Also, yes, the "I want this" factor kinda counts for a lot in computer gaming. If GW was an elder scrolls game, I would have modded this kind of stuff in ages ago(in morrowind i wanted to play, like a gondolier monk, so i modded a boat oar blunt weapon into the thing and my own versions of the straw hats), and if it wasn't for the fact that texmod seems to spaz my pc out, and won't let me use command line tags I would have been screwing with the textures a lot more.

^thats the list of skins in the game, with their galleries, there's dozens with no PvE access or that only show up in some obscure green. Even if they did add them to the pve's loot table, I don't see why I shouldn't be able to get a custom weapon forged at tolkano, with the stats I want, the skin I want, for a reasonable price.
